HOW IT WORKS
Two kinds of order
Almost everything we sell falls into one of two groups, and they behave differently. Knowing which one you are ordering tells you most of what you need about timing.
Stocked items
[TBC-F1] WORKING DAYS
Standard sizes, accessories, upstands and Solatube systems held in stock and picked on receipt of order.
- Ordered online, confirmed automatically
- Despatched from stock
- No drawing or approval stage
Use it when you are ordering a listed size from the catalogue.
Made-to-size items
[TBC-F2] WORKING DAYS
Anything outside the standard nominal sizes, and any configuration built to your specification.
- Quoted rather than ordered online
- Production slot booked once you approve
- Not cancellable once in production
Use it when your opening does not match a listed size, or the specification is bespoke.
Start with a quoteLEAD TIMES
How long each thing takes
Working days from order confirmation to despatch, not to arrival. Add transit time from the table below.
| Product | Despatch | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Solatube daylighting systems | [TBC-F3] | |
| Rooflights, standard nominal sizes | [TBC-F4] | |
| Rooflights, made to size | [TBC-F5] | Quoted individually |
| Upstands | [TBC-F6] | |
| Safety frames and weathering frames | [TBC-F7] | |
| Actuators and electrical items | [TBC-F8] | |
| Accessories and spares | [TBC-F9] |
Lead times are confirmed on your order acknowledgement. Where a delivery date has been agreed in writing for a specific project, that date governs rather than this table.

Delivering somewhere else? Ask before you order — we can usually arrange it, but it needs quoting rather than assuming.
Delivery is charged at checkout and shown before you pay. Oversized items travel on a pallet or by freight and are quoted separately, because the cost depends on the size of the unit and the access at your end.
If you hold a trade account, delivery terms follow your account terms where those differ from the above.
ON THE DAY
Receiving the delivery
Ten minutes of checking on arrival prevents almost every delivery dispute we see.
Before the driver leaves
- 1 Count the items against the delivery note. A rooflight and its upstand are separate lines and travel as separate items.
- 2 Check the article numbers, not just the descriptions. The article number is what determines fit.
- 3 Inspect the packaging for damage. Crushed corners and punctured film are worth photographing even if the contents look fine.
- 4 If anything is damaged, note it on the delivery note before signing, and photograph it where it stands.
- 5 Tell us the same day. Transit damage reported on the day is straightforward; the same damage reported a fortnight later, after the unit has been on the roof, is not.
- 6 Store the units flat and out of direct sun until installation.
QUESTIONS
Common questions
Does someone need to be there to take delivery?
Yes. Deliveries need a signature, and someone has to check the article numbers against the note. Give us a site contact number at the order stage if the delivery address is not an office.
Will the driver help offload?
[TBC-F16]
Can I collect instead?
[TBC-F17]
Can I have a delivery date rather than a lead time?
For a booked-in site delivery, yes — tell us at the quote stage and we will work to the date rather than to a standard lead time. It is much easier to arrange before the order goes in than after.
Part of my order is stocked and part is made to size. Do I get two deliveries?
By default we hold the order and send it complete, so everything arrives together for the installation. If you need the stocked part sooner, say so and we will split it — there may be an additional delivery charge.
My order is late.
Reply to your order acknowledgement with the order number, or use the contact page. Both reach the same inbox and we will get you a position the same working day.
Working to a date?
Tell us the date at the quote stage rather than after the order. Almost everything is possible with notice and much less is possible without it.
Lead times are indicative and confirmed on your order acknowledgement. Where a delivery date has been agreed in writing for a specific order, that agreement governs.
